Department:
NDEV is the application software development team in NEC EMEA, and part of NEC global development. NDEV develops products for unified communication and collaboration, contact centers and management systems. Users of these products can use all kind of devices (tablets, smart phones, PC, etc). The team consists of 25 highly skilled software development and test engineers.

Function profile:
Responsible for system design, development, and implementation of products. Involved in the analysis of (technical) system problems and the development of solutions.

  • Creates, extends and maintains the software architecture of a product (family)
  • Creates complete, unambiguous and good-quality specifications for software modules
  • Creates designs, code, performs module tests and integration tests
  • Provides input for initial cost estimation and planning
  • Contributes to localizing and solving of problems in software
  • Deals with customer problem reports and proposes product changes
  • Applies the quality system and contributes to the improvement of quality in software and processes
  • Keeps up to date on the latest technical developments in own field through professional literature and technical contacts
  • Manages work for a small team of software engineers, including outsourced engineers

Education/Experience:

  • Higher Professional Education (HBO or University) degree in ICT
  • Knowledge of and proven experience in relevant domain
  • In depth knowledge of and proven experience in design methods and software engineering processes.
  • Good knowledge of the English language (both spoken and written)

Specific knowledge of the mentioned area of applications:

  • Linux: operating system, Deamon processes.
  • Javascript
  • C++
  • Apache/PHP
  • Flash
  • Open Source tooling for Load balancing; configuration for the cloud.
  • dHTML
  • AJAX
  • Flex, AIR (preferred to have knowledge)
  • Must be open for other technologies (so not only Linux, willing to work with and within an MS .Net dev team and technologies

Grade
Salary indication: 46.000 Euro – 50.000 Euro dependable of experience

"Maar daarnaast kunnen alle bedrijven en organisaties die actief zijn in de maakindustrie hun vacatures voor technisch personeel in onze vacaturebank laten opnemen", zegt Harold Draaijer, accountmanager bij MetaalNieuws. "Ons streven is om een zo compleet mogelijk overzicht te geven van alle vacatures in de maakindustrie. Van functies op vmbo-niveau tot en met universitair niveau."

Draaijer is samen met Nathalie Schoo, operationeel manager bij Xelvin, initiatiefnemer van de nieuwe vacaturebank. Xelvin, een van de snelst groeiende detacheerders in ons land, die zich vooral richt op functies op mbo-niveau en hoger, beschikt al over een eigen online vacaturebank, maar was op zoek naar meer exposure hiervoor. "Daar kan Metaalnieuws met haar grote bereik in de technische industrie perfect voor zorgen", aldus Schoo, die blij is met de samenwerking.

De vacaturebank (www.metaalnieuwsvacatures.nl) wordt gepresenteerd op de website van MetaalNieuws, die onlangs de grens van 25.000 bezoekers per maand doorbrak. "Ook gaan we vacatures presenteren in onze e-mail nieuwsbrief, die twee keer per week de deur uit gaat", aldus Draaijer. "En we gaan gebruik maken van sociale media, waaronder Twitter, om de vacatures onder de aandacht te brengen. Tevens plaatsen we vacatures in de tweewekelijkse papieren uitgave van MetaalNieuws."
